Day 5

Day 4 was a bit of a write-off in the end as some guy was using a weed-eater next door all day that stopped me making any vocal recordings from 1.30 onward. However I was happy with what I did manage to record. It's a painstaking process, doing the vocals for this song as the harmonies are quite intricate and, because I'm not known for singing in tune at the best of times, need to be picked over with care to make sure it's all pretty much pitch perfect. When you have harmonies in thirds, it doesn't take much of a pitch deviation for the whole thing to sound like a horrible drone. I'm gonna attempt to finish the vocal work for this song today, that's my primary goal. If that gets knocked off in sort time, will get to work on the rest of the arrangement.

Also in unrelated news, just heard that Michael Jackson has died of a heart attack. A sad end to an amazing career that produced some of the best pop music for 2 decades. There's no doubt that Jackson dominated the pop landscape during the 80s and 90s. Fantastic dancing too. RIP dude, hope you find some peace now from your demons.
